Itinerary

Day 1 – Thursday, September 9, 2027 – Frankenmuth, MI – German Dinner & Entertainment

Arrive today in Frankenmuth, MI where you enjoy a two-night stay at the Bavarian Inn.  Nestled on the banks of the beautiful Cass River, the Bavarian Inn Lodge is a world-class resort destination for families and couples. Unique in theme, experience a trip to “Little Bavaria” right here in Frankenmuth, Michigan.

Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring authentic German cuisine as well as a live German Band and Dancers. (D)

Day 2 – Friday, September 10, 2027 – Guided Tour of Frankenmuth – Pretzel Making Class & Lunch at the Bavarian Inn – Bavarian Belle Riverboat Cruise – Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland – Dinner at Zehnder’s

This morning after breakfast, meet your local guide for a tour of Frankenmuth. Discover the stories and history of Michigan’s Little Bavaria.

Next, head to the Bavarian Inn for a Pretzel Making Class and learn the art of crafting traditional Bavarian pretzels.  Following the class, lunch is included at the Bavarian Inn.

The afternoon starts with a sightseeing cruise on the Bavarian Belle Riverboat. Enjoy a fabulous, narrated tour of Frankenmuth on the Cass River aboard an authentic paddlewheel riverboat.

Then enjoy some free time for shopping at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland – The World’s Largest Christmas Store. Bronner’s amazing store is the size of 1 1/2 football fields. It’s a shopper’s dream with over 50,000 trims and gifts. The sights, sounds and spirit of Christmas surround you.

End the day with dinner at the World Famous Zehnder’s Restaurant. Zehnder’s offers a full-service menu that features all-you-can-eat family-style chicken dinners, seafood, steaks, fresh baked goods and European desserts. (B,L,D)

Day 3 – Saturday, September 11, 2027 – Traverse City, MI – Guided Bay Cruise – International Fireworks Competition

After breakfast, depart Frankenmuth for Traverse City, MI.  On arrival in Traverse City, enjoy a Guided Bay Cruise along the shoreline of West Bay with historical and cultural points of interest shared by crew. Lunch will also be included today at one of Traverse City’s waterfront restaurants.

Then check into your hotel for a two-night stay.

Traverse City might be the Cherry Capitol of the World, but it’s also home to the International Fireworks Championship.  Teams from all over the world compete in creating unique, elaborate fireworks displays that are synchronized to music and must meet a list of challenging requirements.  The winner will be decided by a panel of judges and also the audience.

You will be treated to an evening of stunning creativity and technical brilliance, reaffirming this event as one of the premier fireworks competitions in the world. Your evening at the competition includes deck seating and a buffet dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 4 – Sunday, September 12, 2027 – Ferry to Mackinac Island – Lunch at the Grand Hotel – Horse-Drawn Carriage Tour

After breakfast, depart for Mackinaw City, MI to board Shepler’s Ferry to Mackinac Island.

Lunch is included today at the Grand Hotel, one of the finest hotels in the world, it is a truly lovely setting, and a memorable meal. Take a moment and enjoy a rocking chair view from the world’s longest porch. The Grand Hotel is one of the leading hotels in the world.

Following lunch, enjoy a Horse-Drawn Carriage Tour of the island. There are no motorized vehicles on the island, horse drawn carriages will whisk you off on a narrated tour of the island.

There will then be a little time for shopping on your own be reboarding the ferry for Mackinaw City.  Dinner is included at a local restaurant before returning to you Traverse City Hotel for the evening. (B,L,D)

Day 5 – Monday, September 13, 2027 – Depart for Home – Rail Bike Option**

After breakfast, depart for home. (B)

**Groups looking to add something this morning have the option of adding a Rail Bike adventure.  Wheels on Rails is an exciting new outdoor experience in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. Take a one-of-a-kind tour utilizing custom-made Rail Bikes. The tours take place on out-of-service rail lines and run through the woods of southern Traverse City.
