Following dinner, head to Main Street to enjoy the Christmas Festivities. Downtown is a magical wonderland where you can see the City Hall Light Show Spectacular, a brilliantly-choreographed light show. The whole downtown is filled with characters like the aminated snowman and the singing Christmas tree, vintage sleighs, life-sized Christmas cards, and more! (D)
Day 2 – Friday – Vetro Glassblowing Studio & Ornament Making – Free Time Historic Downtown Grapevine – Wine Tasting – Gaylord Texan Lone Star Christmas – Holiday Dinner & Show
This morning, visit the Vetro Glassblowing Studio. Browse the studio’s gallery of hand-blown glass art, ranging from hand-made sculptures to small glass art gifts. While here, work along-side the professional glassblowers make your own holiday ornament.
Next, enjoy free time for lunch on own, and shopping in Historic Downtown Grapevine. Historic Downtown Grapevine has it all. Anchored by Main Street, this walkable, preserved historic area is home to unique retail shops, winery tasting rooms, the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, the Palace Arts Center, the Grapevine Glockenspiel Clock Tower, one-of-a-kind shops, live entertainment venues, restaurants, and art galleries.
Then at the stroke of Noon, gather on Main Street at the Grapevine Glockenspiel Clock Tower and see the two larger-than-life, 9-foot tall Glockenspiel characters, known as the Would-Be Train Robbers. Approximately 75 feet above ground, these figures emerge from the Tower each day to commence what each believes to be the perfect heist. Just as glockenspiels in Europe are rooted in history, Grapevine’s Clock Tower figures reflect the Western lore that many visitors from outside Texas find interesting and entertaining.
The afternoon also includes a stop at a local winery for a tasting. Texas is the fifth largest wine-producing state in the U.S., and Grapevine has served as a trendsetter in wine culture and a leader in the Texas wine industry with award-winning festivals celebrating the fruit of the vine as well as wineries and winemakers for more than 25 years.
Then head to the Gaylord Texan for a “Lone Star Christmas.” Marvel at acres of twinkling lights and decorations, beautiful holiday scenery, a 50-foot-tall Christmas Tree and life-size Gingerbread House. Plus, there are many fan-favorite and all-new holiday activities, shows, and events, including snow tubing and ice skating.
This evening, enjoy a Holiday Dinner at one of Gaylord’s fabulous restaurants. Following dinner, enjoy Gaylord’s holiday entertainment. From stilt walkers, to singing cowboys to Santa Claus, there’s something delightful around every corner. (2022 Schedule TBA) (B,D)
