Itinerary

Day 1 – Lancaster, PA – Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre

Arriving in Penn Dutch Country this afternoon, your group will check into a comfortable first class hotel for a two-night stay.  Tonight, enjoy a dinner show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. Since 1987, the Dutch Apple has been an entertainment favorite in Lancaster County. Enjoy top shows, professional entertainment, and a delicious meal. Throughout the year, Dutch Apple presents one popular show after another – From classic musicals to contemporary hits. Many of the performers at Dutch Apple have performed in national tours. Day 2 – Amish Buggy Ride – Kitchen Kettle Village – JONAH at Sight & Sound Theatre

This morning after breakfast, enjoy an authentic Buggy Ride through Amish Farmland.  Along the back country roads, you’ll see the Amish growing their crops, such as corn and alfalfa.  Some of the Amish farms have remained in the Amish families for hundreds of years, dating back to when the Amish came to the New World in the 1700s.  If the Amish country roadside stand is open, your driver will stop for you to purchase some goodies.  Your buggy will also pull into a private Amish home, and the Amish girls will come out with a tray of goodies, such as homemade lemonade and root beer.

Your tour is followed by free time and lunch on your own at Kitchen Kettle Village. With over 40 specialty shops, restaurants, and plenty of hands-on activities including a self-guided tasting tour in the Jam & Relish Kitchen.

The afternoon features a matinee performance of JONAH, returning to the Sight & Sound Stage after a decade.  Jonah is a prophet and a man desperately trying to outrun his calling from God—a calling that leads straight to his enemy, Nineveh. After uncharted adventures lead him off a storm-tossed ship and into the belly of a giant fish, Jonah believes all hope is lost. But in the depths, will he learn how to receive grace and extend mercy, even toward those he opposed the most?

Complete with magnificent sets, immersive special effects, and live animals, JONAH is a state-of-the-art theatrical experience for the whole family. Experience one of the Bible’s most powerful stories of mercy as Jonah’s journey comes to life like never before in this original production from Sight & Sound Theatres.

After the show, enjoy a family-style dinner at Hershey Farm Restaurant or similar restaurant. (D)
