Itinerary
Day 1 – Windsor, Ontario
Arrive today in Windsor, Ontario where you enjoy an overnight stay at a local hotel. Dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 2 – VIA Rail to Toronto
This morning, board VIA RAIL for an unforgettable train trip to Toronto where every seat is a “Front Row” seat and you are the main focus of the attentive and courteous train attendants! Scenic highlights of your journey are just outside the large windows including the shores of Lake St. Clair, through the hills of southern Ontario and all the small towns along the way. A freshly prepared dinner will be served at your seat accompanied by after dinner liquors. (This is one way rail excursion from Windsor to Toronto. Your motorcoach will need to meet you in Toronto at the end of your train excursion.)
On arrival in Toronto, you will be transferred to your local hotel for a two-night stay. (D)
Day 3 – Toronto City Tour – Casa Loma – Eaton Centre – Famous People Players Dinner Theater
After breakfast at the hotel, meet a local guide for a comprehensive tour of cosmopolitan Toronto. Your Tour includes Chinatown, Queens Quay Terminal, the CN Tower and the longest street in the world, Yonge Street.
Then step back in time as you tour Toronto’s only “Medieval” castle, Casa Loma. Created by a wealthy financier at a cost of 3 ½ million dollars in the early 1900s, Sr. Henry Mill’s estate includes military decorated suites, secret passages, an 800-foot tunnel, towers, stables, and beautiful 5-acre estate gardens; an intriguing legacy.
Then enjoy some free time for lunch on your own and shopping at the Eaton Centre, Canada’s favorite place to eat and shop with over 200 retailers, the selection is unbeatable!
End your day with an unforgettable evening at the Famous People Players Dinner Theater. You will feel the warmth and magic of the theatre as soon as you enter the door. Be sure to look at the Wall of Fame with photos and testimonials from stars such as Paul Newman and Robin Williams. Dinner is served, so indulge in a gourmet meal created by Celebrity Chef Christopher Woods. Then, it’s “show time” in the Phil Collins Theatre (another contributor). As the lights dim, you will be transported to a memorable “black light” production. Finally, a sweet encore with coffee and dessert served by the performers! (B,D)
Day 4 – Niagara-on-the-Lake – Shaw Festival Show & Backstage Tour
After breakfast, depart Toronto for Niagara-On-The-Lake. You will enjoy free time exploring what is often called the loveliest town in Ontario. Nestled along the shores of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario, the Old Town shopping district is bursting with quaint shops, boutiques, cafes’ and restaurants.
Check into your Niagara area hotel for an overnight stay.
Tonight, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant followed by a show at the Shaw Festival. It is the second largest repertory theatre company in North America, bringing great theatre to life with its New York style productions and quality ensembles. A Backstage Stage Tour is included for you prior to the show. (B, D)
Day 5 – Niagara Falls – Depart for Home
After breakfast, depart for the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. As your coach travels the scenic Niagara Parkway alongside the Upper Rapids you can view the Floral Clock, one of the largest in the world with a diameter of 40, and the Adam Beck Hydroelectric Power Station generating 2000 megawatts of electricity every day.
You’ll have free time to explore Queen Victoria Place, where special gifts abound and perhaps grab a snack at the Riverview Express specializing in fresh foods to suit every taste (both located at the falls). Grab a seat and enjoy people-watching and free lunchtime entertainment. The biggest and most iconic attraction, of course, is Niagara Falls itself…this natural beauty will keep your cameras clicking! Then depart for home. (B)
