Itinerary
Day 1 – Toronto, Ontario
Today, travel to Toronto, Ontario where you enjoy an overnight at a downtown hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening. (D)
Day 2 – Toronto City Tour – VIA Rail to Montreal, Quebec
This morning, explore the exciting city of Toronto, the largest English-speaking city in Canada, as well as a financial, industrial and cultural center. This guided city tour includes the downtown area featuring Nathan Phillips Square, City Hall, Younge Street, Chinatown and the Harbourfront.
Later today, board VIA Rail’s sleek, high-speed LRC train and embark on an exciting ride to Montreal, Quebec. Enjoy traveling first class aboard VIA Rail with its plush reclining seats and large observation windows. There sure is something magical about train travel! Enjoy a delicious full-course dinner, cocktails and wine on the train as it travels north along the shores of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence Seaway.
Later this afternoon, arrive in Montreal where a motorcoach will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel for a two-night stay. (B,D)
Day 3 – Montreal City Tour – Free Afternoon – Casino de Montreal
Montreal is a delightful city with many things to do. With its dual English and French cultures, Montreal is Canada’s most cosmopolitan city. Culture, history, fine cuisine and many old-world customs mix and coexist within a modern environment. This morning, enjoy a fully guided sightseeing tour of Montreal including the Cathedral of Notre Dame, Mount Royal, Old Montreal, the historic Port of Montreal and a stop at the lovely Botanical Gardens.
The afternoon is free time for personal pursuits. The underground marketplaces of Ville Marie, Place du Canada and Place Bonaventure present an endless array of merchandise from everyday items to posh luxury articles. Just browsing can be as pleasurable as shopping.
This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant followed by fun at the Casino de Montreal. (B,D)
Day 4 – Quebec City, Quebec – Old Quebec City Tour
This morning, depart for Quebec City, Quebec and discover old-world charm and grace of another era. Capital of the province, it is the only walled city north of Mexico on the continent. A guided sightseeing tour of Old Quebec shows you the famed St. Louis Gateway, historic French Quarter, Parliament Building, Lower Town and narrow, cobbled stone streets.
Later this afternoon, check into your hotel in Old Quebec for a wonderful two-night stay. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 5 – Basilica of Saint Anne de Beaupre – Free Time in Quebec City
This morning, travel along the scenic Beaupre Coast to the Basilica of Saint Anne de Beaupre where you have ample time to visit the shrine and cyclorama.
Returning to Quebec City, the rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the city. Quebec City has much to offer. You may wish to see the Changing of the Guard at the Citadel or stroll along Dufferin Terrace, which offers a spectacular view of the St. Lawrence River. Visit the many boutiques, galleries and shops of Place Royale. Dinner is on your own this evening. (B)
Day 6 – Ottawa, Ontario
Today, leave Quebec City and travel southeast via deluxe motorcoach to Canada’s capital city, Ottawa. This magnificent city captivates you with the tranquil charm of its exquisite gardens and regal architecture. Steeped in the elegant and graceful characteristics embodied by the Parliament buildings, Ottawa is the epitome of beauty and dignity. It is a city where residents have the luxury of parks, farms, and a non-industrial environment while still reaping the benefits of city life.
Enjoy a one-night stay at a hotel near Parliament. Tonight, enjoy dinner at a restaurant along the banks of the Rideau Canal at Le Cafe. (B, D)
DAY 7 – Ottawa City Tour – VIA Rail – Toronto
This morning, enjoy a delightful sightseeing tour of Ottawa highlighting the Parliament buildings, Embassy Row, Rideau Canal, Rideau Falls, Ottawa River and the governor’s residence.
After viewing Ottawa’s magnificent sights, board VIA Rail for your final train journey. Relax and enjoy dinner as the smooth-riding LRC train glides across southern Ontario and into Toronto. Enjoy one more overnight stay in downtown Toronto. (B, D)
Day 8 – Depart for Home
